Flexible, Practical Muzzle Support for Force-Free Rescue Organisations
At The Muzzle Movement, canine rescue work isn’t just something we support, it’s part of our DNA. Our team includes experienced rescue professionals, from kennel staff and dog behaviour consultants to rehoming officers and force-free trainers. Together, we bring over 70 years of hands-on experience in animal rescue and rehabilitation. We understand the reality of rescue: long hours, limited resources, emotionally demanding cases and dogs who need expert, compassionate handling.
We’re here to help you make a difference. Whether it’s providing high-quality, comfortable muzzles at the lowest possible cost, empowering your staff with knowledge, or helping your adopters feel confident using a muzzle
we’re here to offer real support that makes a difference.

Building a Meaningful Partnership: The Muzzle Movement + Birmingham Dogs Home:
At The Muzzle Movement, everything we do is rooted in one simple belief: dogs deserve understanding, safety, and the chance to thrive. That’s why our partnership with Birmingham Dogs Home, one of the UK’s leading dog rescue and rehoming organisations, is so important to us.
Together, we’re supporting dog rescue in Birmingham, dog adoption, and muzzle training for rescue dogs, helping improve welfare and give more dogs the best possible start in their new homes.
About Birmingham Dogs Home
Birmingham Dogs Home (BDH) has been at the heart of the community for generations, providing care, rehabilitation, and second chances to dogs in need. With centres in Birmingham and Wolverhampton, they play a vital role in the West Midlands dog rescue community.
Their team works tirelessly to rescue, care for, and rehome dogs—supporting not only the animals themselves, but the people who adopt them. Their impact goes beyond rehoming, offering guidance, education, and ongoing support to adopters.
If you’re looking for dog adoption in Birmingham, Birmingham Dogs Home is one of the most trusted places to start.
Supporting Dog Rescue through Muzzle Training
Our journey together began in May 2025 with a simple donation, a muzzle for a dog in their care. What started as a small gesture quickly grew into a shared mission: improving welfare through muzzle training for rescue dogs.
Since then, we’ve delivered four educational sessions across their Birmingham and Wolverhampton centres. These focused on:
• Proper muzzle fit, use and positive muzzle training techniques
• Supporting adopters with confidence and education
We also carried out fittings for dogs within the rescue and donated muzzles to support their ongoing work.
Supporting Dog Adoption in Birmingham
A key part of this partnership is supporting sustainable income for the rescue while improving outcomes for adopted dogs.
- • Birmingham Dogs Home is now an official stockist of our muzzles.
- • Through their rescue trade account, they receive the highest discount we offer on trade stock.
- • As affiliates, adopters receive 10% off our website, while BDH receives 10% commission, creating a sustainable income stream that supports the rescue’s ongoing work.
- • Even more importantly, Adopters can purchase muzzles their dog is already familiar with.
This creates a better transition for dogs moving into new homes, reducing stress and supporting successful dog adoption outcomes.
Charity Muzzles Supporting Rescue Dogs
We also created dedicated charity colour muzzles in Birmingham Dogs Home’s colours, Teal with Amethyst strapping.
💜 What Makes It Special
This is our first ever Charity Colour Muzzle, created to represent and support Birmingham Dogs Home.
✨ For every 5 Charity Colour Muzzles purchased, we will donate a muzzle directly to the charity.
The Birmingham Dogs Home edition features:
- 🧺 Teal Basket
- 🎨 Amethyst Purple Strapping
- ⚙️ Nickel Hardware
These colours were chosen to reflect the branding of this incredible charity.
A Partnership Built on Shared Values
What makes this collaboration so special is how naturally it has grown from a single donation into a multi-layered partnership that supports dogs, adopters, and the wider community. Birmingham Dogs Home continues to do incredible work every day, and we’re proud to stand alongside them, providing tools, training, and ongoing support that helps both their team and their dogs thrive. Looking Ahead
This is exactly the kind of partnership we want to build with rescues across the UK and beyond.
If you’re part of a rescue and want to: Improve welfare through better-fitting muzzles Offer professional fitting services to your community Create new income streams to support your work Help change the perception of muzzles
We’d love to hear from you.
And if you’d like to support Birmingham Dogs Home directly, you can do so by purchasing one of our charity colour muzzles, helping us continue to give back, one dog at a time.
Together, we can make muzzles normal, positive, and accessible for every dog who needs one.
